Trip.com FAQ
The questions I get asked most about saving — and booking safely — at Trip.com in Singapore.
Does Trip.com have promo codes?
A few — like TRIPCAR8 for car rentals and TRAIN10 for South Korea trains — but most Trip.com savings are auto-applied sales or account-based discounts rather than checkout codes. If a site offers you a generic code, it usually just links you to the same auto-applied price.
How do I apply a Trip.com discount?
Sign in first. New-user, Member Day and airline discounts apply automatically; seasonal sale prices show on the deals page; Trip Coins are redeemed with the slider at checkout. There's usually nothing to paste.
What is Member Day?
On the 27th of each month, members can unlock S$80 off flights to top destinations. Fares are limited and first-come, first-served, so check on the day.
Is there a new-user discount?
Yes — up to 10% off your first hotel booking in-app, up to S$45 off selected B&Bs, and 5% off a second booking, applied when you sign in to a new account.
Do Singapore credit cards get extra discounts?
Yes — DBS/POSB, Citi, OCBC, HSBC and UOB run frequent Trip.com promotions worth S$50–S$100 off flights and hotels, plus weekday flash deals. Check your card's current offer before paying.
What are Trip Coins worth?
You earn them on most bookings and spend them like cash on prepaid services — a few percent back on a typical trip, stacked on top of any sale.
Is Trip.com legit and safe?
Yes — it's part of Nasdaq-listed Trip.com Group and its Singapore entity holds Travel Licence No. 02943, scoring 4.4/5 across 183,000+ Trustpilot reviews. As a third-party agent, refund handling can be slower than booking direct.
How do refunds and cancellations work?
Refundable fares can be cancelled per their conditions, but processing can take time, and complex airline cancellations are handled through Trip.com rather than the carrier. Check fare conditions before booking.
Can I save on baggage and extras?
Add baggage and seat selection during booking rather than at the airport, where they cost more.
